Memory corruption via crafted TGA file parsing
Published Oct 21, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025
Memory corruption in Autodesk Design Review 2018 and earlier allows remote attackers to corrupt process memory via a crafted TGA file. DesignReview.exe's TGA parser writes beyond allocated memory when it consumes malformed image data; Autodesk has not disclosed the responsible function. A target must open the file or visit a page that causes Design Review to process it, and code execution requires chaining this flaw with another vulnerability.
