Client crash via missing BigInt keep-alive annotations
Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Memory corruption in Mozilla Firefox before 106, Firefox ESR before 102.4, and Thunderbird before 102.4 allows remote attackers to crash the client. The JIT NeedsKeepAlive logic omits keep-alive annotations for MIR instructions that return BigInt values, permitting nursery garbage collection to reuse a still-referenced allocation. Exploitation requires crafted content and user interaction while the garbage-collection nursery is full when an allocation fails and triggers minor collection.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
