Code execution via out-of-bounds XMT parsing
Published Oct 13, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025
Out-of-bounds access in Bentley MicroStation before 10.17.01.58 and Bentley View before 10.17.01.19 allows attackers to execute code. The XMT parser reads or writes beyond allocated memory while processing attacker-controlled file data. A user must open the file; successful exploitation reads process data or executes code with the current process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
