Unauthenticated arbitrary file write via web service
Published Nov 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Improper file-write access control in syngo Dynamics before VA40G HF01 allows remote attackers to write data via an application-server web service. A web-service operation accepts an externally controlled file path without enforcing write boundaries, placing attacker-supplied data in any folder writable by the website application-pool account. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the service is intended only for trusted internal nodes and the Internet-facing Web Portal is unaffected.
