CVE-2022-42786Network attack vector

Browser script execution via stored title payload

Published Nov 10, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025

Stored XSS in Wiesemann & Theis Com-Server firmware before 1.48 or 1.76 allows remote authenticated users to run browser scripts. The web configuration interface stores an attacker-supplied title and renders it as active HTML or script without neutralizing the payload. Exploitation requires authenticated configuration access and a user to view the affected page; the script can read or alter browser-accessible data in the management origin but cannot interrupt the appliance.
