Local WLAN service interruption via buffer over-read
Published Dec 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
A buffer over-read in Unisoc WLAN firmware for affected chipsets on Android 10 through Android 12 allows local users to interrupt WLAN services. The WLAN driver reads beyond a buffer because it lacks a required bounds check; Unisoc has not disclosed the affected function or input path. Local access is required, but published assessments disagree on whether privileges or user interaction are needed and do not identify whether the service crashes or hangs.
