Authenticated file disclosure via GetConfig path traversal
Published Dec 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Path traversal in Sangoma Asterisk allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files through the AMI GetConfig action. The manager module passed the attacker-controlled Filename value to the configuration loader without restricting the resolved path to the Asterisk configuration directory. An AMI account with config permission is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the Asterisk process even when live_dangerously is disabled.
