Stored XSS via unescaped API key settings
Published Jan 2, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Stored XSS in ThemesGrove WidgetKit for Elementor before 2.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through API key settings. The API Keys page stores settings without sanitizing or escaping them, then renders the saved values so a crafted field executes when the page is revisited. Administrator-level access and a later page view are required, including on multisite installations where unfiltered_html is disabled.
