CVE-2022-4255Network attack vector

Private email disclosure via unredacted webhook payloads

Published Jan 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025

Information disclosure in GitLab EE allows remote authenticated users to obtain private email addresses through group webhook payloads. The group webhook payload builder serializes an added or removed user's hidden primary email without applying private-email redaction. Exploitation requires authenticated access and delivery of a membership event to an attacker-accessible webhook; the disclosure is limited to affected users' email addresses.
