Local information disclosure via unchecked buffer bounds
Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in the Android kernel allows local users with System privileges to disclose adjacent memory without user interaction. ProtocolImsBuilder::BuildSetConfig in protocolimsbuilder.cpp reads past a buffer boundary because it omits a required bounds check. Exploitation requires System execution privileges and is limited to local information disclosure; integrity and availability are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
