Local privilege escalation via unchecked radio criteria write
Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 18, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in the Android kernel allows local users with System execution privileges to escalate privileges through rild_exynos. ProtocolMiscBuilder::BuildSetLinkCapaReportCriteria in protocolmiscbuilder.cpp fails to bounds-check data before writing it, allowing memory outside the intended buffer to be overwritten. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges on a supported Pixel device with the Exynos radio interface layer; no user interaction is required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
