Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized DOWNLOAD_AD data
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
OS command injection in the m2m binary of Siretta QUARTZ-GOLD G5.0.1.5-210720-141020 allows remote attackers to execute commands. The DOWNLOAD_AD handler passes UDP packet data to m2m_parse_router_config, which inserts unsanitized key-value pairs into an nvram set string passed to system(). When the M2M feature is enabled, unauthenticated network access to its UDP command service is sufficient for arbitrary OS command execution.
