Privileged command execution via unsanitized log search
Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in FreshTomato 2022.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via logs/view.cgi. The wo_viewlog function inserts the insufficiently filtered find parameter into a grep command string that web_pipecmd passes to popen; the same firmware flaw affects Siretta QUARTZ-GOLD G5.0.1.5-210720-141020. Administrative access to the log viewer is required, after which injected commands execute in the router firmware context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
