CVE-2022-42474Network attack vector

Directory deletion via administrative HTTP path traversal

Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

Path traversal in Fortinet FortiOS, FortiProxy, and FortiSwitch Manager allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary directories. The administrative HTTP interface accepts crafted relative paths and resolves them outside the intended directory before performing deletion. Administrative privileges are required, and successful exploitation can remove filesystem directories and disrupt the appliance.
