CVE-2022-42467Network attack vector

Database disclosure via default H2 console exposure

Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Insecure default H2 console exposure in Apache Causeway before 2.0.0-M8 allows remote attackers to query the database in prototype mode. The prototype-mode web console enabled remote H2 access by default without requiring a randomized web-administrator password. The console is absent in production mode; exposure requires an H2-backed application in prototype mode, and the supported impact is database-data disclosure.
