CVE-2022-42453

Untrusted Fixlet execution via misleading import warnings

Published Dec 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025

Improper authentication in HCL BigFix Platform 9.5 through 9.5.20 and 10 through 10.0.7 allows local users to execute untrusted Fixlet scripts. The import warning treats the logged-in operator as the script owner and does not clearly identify embedded scripting or relevance from another source. A privileged console operator must import and choose to run the content, allowing its script to read or modify data under the operator's authority.
