Code execution via PGM parser buffer overwrite
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in PDF-XChange Editor 9.4.362.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted PGM file. Its PGM parser trusts crafted image data and writes beyond the end of an allocated buffer during file processing. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful corruption executes code in the current process.
