Information disclosure via EMF parser over-read
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in PDF-XChange Editor 9.4.362.0 allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through a crafted EMF file. The EMF parser trusts crafted file data and reads beyond the end of an allocated buffer, exposing adjacent process memory. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file; code execution requires chaining with another vulnerability.
