Code execution via U3D parser out-of-bounds write
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in PDF-XChange Editor 9.4.362.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted U3D file opened by the target. The U3D parser writes crafted data past the end of an allocated buffer instead of validating the destination bounds. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and code runs in the current process context.
