Privilege escalation via customer endpoint authorization bypass
Published Oct 20, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to expose information and escalate privileges. The customer self-service REST endpoint accepts an insecure direct object reference without enforcing object-level authorization for the authenticated account. A low-privileged Commerce account and network access to the endpoint are required; successful exploitation exposes protected customer data and grants higher privileges.
