Authenticated service interruption via nbars process crash
Published Oct 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in Veritas NetBackup 10.0.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the Primary server nbars process. Veritas has not published the request handler, malformed input, or incorrect operation that causes nbars to terminate. Low-privileged network access is required, and the watchdog automatically restarts nbars, bounding the consequence to a service interruption.
