CVE-2022-42287

Privileged arbitrary file access via path traversal

Published Jan 13, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025

Path traversal in the NVIDIA DGX A100 BMC before 00.19.07 allows local users with high privileges to upload or download arbitrary files. The IPMI handler fails to constrain attacker-supplied file paths to an intended directory, permitting reads and writes outside that directory. Local high-privilege access is required; successful use exposes or alters files and can escalate privileges.
