Local privilege escalation via REST path traversal
Published Jan 13, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
Path traversal in the NVIDIA DGX Systems BMC before 00.19.07 allows local users to bypass SPX REST authorization and escalate privileges. The SPX REST authorization handler fails to constrain a crafted request path to its authorized directory before resolving it. Low-privileged local access is required; exploitation bypasses authorization and permits high-impact reads and writes without reported service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
