Published Nov 30, 2022 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Information disclosure in SourceCodester Book Store Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to retrieve user password hashes. The /bsms_ci/index.php/user/edit_user/{id} route returns the selected account's stored password hash without enforcing authentication. Any network client that can reach the application can request an account identifier, including the administrator identifier, and obtain credential material for offline cracking.
