Firmware corruption via unauthenticated IPMI flash writes
Published Jan 13, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
Authentication bypass in NVIDIA DGX A100 BMC firmware before 00.19.07 allows local users to overwrite host SPI flash through IPMI. The IPMI handler accepts host-initiated flash writes without authentication and applies them despite secure boot protections. Access from the host to the BMC interface is required; successful writes can corrupt platform firmware, compromise boot integrity, and interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
