CVE-2022-42273Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via libwebsocket buffer overflow

Published Jan 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025

Buffer overflow in NVIDIA DGX Systems BMC firmware before 00.19.07 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through libwebsocket. Within libwebsocket, a buffer copy fails to check the size of attacker-controlled input, but NVIDIA has not disclosed the affected handler. Access requires authenticated low-privilege access to the BMC network interface; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in the controller.
