Local data tampering via unchecked input index
Published Dec 30, 2022 · Updated Apr 11, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in NVIDIA Virtual GPU Manager 14.3 and earlier allows local users to tamper with data or interrupt the host service. The vGPU plugin accepts an input index without validating its bounds and uses it in a buffer operation, causing an overrun that writes beyond the intended memory region. A low-privileged local account on an affected virtualization host is required; exploitation can corrupt data or interrupt service, but NVIDIA does not specify whether denial of service is a crash or hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=All versions prior to and including 14.2, 13.4, and 11.9, and all versions prior to the November 2022 release
