Session theft via unsanitized Exam List fields
Published Oct 20, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025
Stored XSS in Simple Exam Reviewer Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to steal session cookies via Exam List entries. The Exam creation workflow stores an HTML event-handler payload from the Title and Description fields and renders it when another user opens the Exam List. Administrator or Staff access is required to create an exam, and exploitation depends on another user visiting the public list; script execution can impersonate that user session.
