Exam record modification via tokenless save request
Published Oct 20, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Simple Exam Reviewer Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to alter exam records via a crafted request. The save_exam action in classes/Master.php accepts a cross-origin POST containing an exam ID and replacement title, category, description, score, and status without an anti-CSRF token. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator or staff member to submit the attacker's form; the request overwrites the chosen exam's stored fields.
