Authenticated code execution via unrestricted avatar upload
Published Oct 20, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Simple Exam Reviewer Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The avatar upload control at /admin/?page=user/list accepts arbitrary file types, including executable PHP and active SVG content, without enforcing a safe-type restriction. Low-privileged management access is required; a malicious upload can execute code on the web server or run script in a browser.
