Authentication bypass via URL path traversal
Published Jul 31, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Path traversal in Precisely Spectrum Spatial Analyst 20.01 allows remote attackers to bypass authentication via a crafted URL parameter. Multiple connectProxy endpoints accept an arbitrary URL parameter and resolve parent-directory segments to route requests into protected SOAP and REST API endpoints. No credentials or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation exposes functionality otherwise protected by Basic authentication.
