Cross-tenant server takeover via user-controlled ID
Published Jul 5, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Authorization bypass in the SolusVM 1 WHMCS module 4.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter other customers' servers. The module accepts a user-controlled server ID in password and hostname change requests without verifying that the referenced server belongs to the requesting customer. A customer account is required, and successful exploitation permits cross-tenant password and hostname changes that can transfer control of the targeted virtual server.
