Stored XSS via unescaped sort attributes
Published Oct 18, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal 7.2.0 through 7.4.3.24 and affected DXP releases allows remote authenticated users to inject script. The Sort widget writes attacker-controlled sort-term labels and field values into option attributes without HTML attribute escaping. A low-privileged user must store the crafted value and another user must view the affected widget, causing script execution in that viewer's browser.
