Reflected XSS via unescaped datef attribute
Published Dec 2, 2022 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Chained Quiz 1.3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts in an administrator's browser via datef. The completed-results controller and view sanitize the datef filter as text but place it in an HTML attribute without attribute escaping. The attacker needs no account, but an authenticated administrator must open the crafted chainedquiz_list URL, causing the script to run in that administrator's session.
