Unauthenticated denial of service via stack overflow
Published Oct 12, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025
A stack overflow in Tenda AC1206 firmware US_AC1206V1.0RTL_V15.03.06.23_multi_TD01 allows remote attackers to interrupt router service via crafted WiFi settings input. The formWifiBasicSet function copies attacker-controlled request data into a stack buffer without adequate bounds checking, causing an out-of-bounds write. The network endpoint requires no authentication or user interaction; the published impact is service interruption, with no supported confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
