Authenticated script execution via unescaped hover values
Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Jan 23, 2025
Stored XSS in Oxilab Image Hover Effects Ultimate 9.8.1 through 9.8.4 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in visitors' browsers. Several Image Hover values are stored without sufficient sanitization and later rendered without adequate output escaping. Editing Image Hovers is administrator-only by default; exploitation by lower-privileged users requires the administrator-controlled Who Can Edit setting, and a visitor must open an injected page.
