CVE-2022-42001Network attack vector

Stored XSS via arbitrary HTML in book navigation

Published Nov 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025

Stored XSS in the BlueSpiceBookshelf extension in BlueSpice 4 before 4.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary HTML. The book-navigation rendering path places editor-controlled content into the navigation as arbitrary HTML, but Hallo Welt has not published the exact function or missing encoding operation. Regular accounts need edit permission, and viewing the poisoned navigation exposes other users to attacker-controlled content in the wiki origin.
