Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized date format
Published Jan 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 4, 2025
Stored XSS in Community Events Project Link Library before 7.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through settings. The Links Date Format field on the general-options admin page stores input without sanitizing or escaping it and renders that input when the page reloads. Administrator access is required, and the injected script runs in a privileged visitor's browser even when WordPress disallows unfiltered HTML.
