Subscriber-level privilege escalation via arbitrary option updates
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Broken access control in Zoho CRM Lead Magnet before 1.7.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to update arbitrary WordPress options. The zcf_save_contact_form_title and mainActionscrmForms AJAX handlers accept attacker-controlled option names and values without restricting updates to plugin-owned settings or enforcing adequate authorization. Subscriber access is sufficient to change users_can_register and default_role, enabling unauthorized site-wide configuration changes and administrator account creation.
