CVE-2022-41976Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account privilege escalation via trusted admin flag

Published Apr 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Incorrect access control in Scada-LTS before 2.7.3 allows remote authenticated users to grant themselves administrator privileges. The profile-update API trusts the client-supplied admin boolean and stores admin=true without enforcing the caller's current role. Any low-privileged application account can therefore unlock administrative menus and exercise administrator-level access to data and control functions.
