Whiteboard modification via post-revocation grace period
Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Authorization failure in BigBlueButton before 2.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to modify a meeting whiteboard after access is revoked. The bbb-apps-akka whiteboard message path preserves a short grace period and accepts action messages for several seconds after permission withdrawal. A meeting participant must first hold whiteboard access; exploitation changes whiteboard content only during the post-revocation window.
