Stored script execution via unsanitized form fields
Published Jan 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Stored XSS in Mondula GmbH Multi Step Form before 1.7.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted form fields. Step Title, Step Headline, Step description, and Sections accept attribute-breaking input without sanitization or output escaping, so the saved payload executes on mouseover in the editor or an embedded form. Administrator-level access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites that disable unfiltered_html; a victim must view and hover over the injected content.
