CVE-2022-41958Public exploit

Local code execution via unsafe YAML deserialization

Published Nov 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Unsafe YAML deserialization in 4ra1n Super Xray before 0.7 allows local users to execute code through a crafted configuration file. LookupConfigForm and MainForm create SnakeYAML's unrestricted default Yaml constructor and load configuration text, permitting attacker-selected Java types and gadget chains to instantiate. Exploitation requires local write access to configuration input and user interaction that makes the application load it; resulting code runs with the application's privileges.
