CVE-2022-41957Network attack vector

Service crash via unchecked PDF parser results

Published Nov 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in MuhammaraJS before 2.6.2 and 3.0.0 through 3.3.0 allows remote attackers to crash PDF-processing services. Multiple PDF parser and writer paths use results from object parsing, table lookup, page-tree traversal, glyph lookup, and context creation without first rejecting null returns. An application must pass an attacker-controlled PDF to the library; exploitation terminates the hosting process but has no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
