Stored XSS via browser-executable uploaded files
Published Dec 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored XSS in affected DHIS2 Core releases allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser through an uploaded file. The documented file-serving endpoints return attacker-controlled uploads in a browser-executable context without a script-blocking content policy. Exploitation requires an authenticated upload and another authenticated user to open the file, exposing information available to that browser session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
