Local command execution via unsanitized scan URL
Published Nov 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Command injection in 4ra1n Super Xray 0.1-beta allows local users to execute commands by supplying a crafted scan URL. The active-scan path incorporates the URL into an Xray command and passes the resulting string to cmd.exe /c on Windows or /bin/bash -c elsewhere without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires high-privilege access to the GUI and a user action that starts the scan; injected commands run with the application process's privileges.
