Command execution via unvalidated Gitolite host
Published Nov 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Command injection in Sourcegraph before 4.1.0 allows local users to execute commands in the gitserver container via /list-gitolite. The endpoint passes its unvalidated host parameter into the Gitolite command path, allowing shell metacharacters to alter the executed command. Exploitation requires local request access to gitserver and grants command execution within that container.
