Authenticated code execution via unescaped selector properties
Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Eval injection in XWiki Platform 5.0-milestone-1 through 13.10.6 and 14.0.0 through 14.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to run code. AttachmentSelector.xml inserts attachment names and width, height, or alternate-text values into XWiki markup without rendering escaping, allowing injected Groovy macros to be evaluated. A simple user's page-edit permission is sufficient, and successful exploitation runs code with the wiki server's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
