Unauthenticated privilege escalation via mismatched URI authorization
Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Incorrect authorization in the Grails Spring Security Core plugin allows remote attackers to access restricted application endpoints. The calculateUri path derivation can evaluate a crafted request as a donor endpoint for authorization while Grails routes it to a different target endpoint. Exploitation requires an affected application with endpoints having different access rules and can expose or modify resources without interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
