Remote code execution via CDbCriteria object iteration
Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Unsafe deserialization in Yiisoft Yii before 1.1.27 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted serialized input. CDbCriteria::__wakeup() treats the deserialized params property as iterable without requiring an array, causing attacker-supplied objects to be traversed during wakeup. Exploitation requires a Yii application to pass arbitrary user input to unserialize(); successful exploitation runs code in the application process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
